Women-led Food Processing Initiative
Haveri District Federation of Women’s Cooperatives (Namma KFF)
Brief Introduction of the Project
In Haveri district, government approval has been granted to establish food processing units led by women. This is a pilot project under which:
- 20 women-led food processing units have been set up
- A district-level women’s cooperative federation has been established for coordination, quality control, and marketing
Through this initiative
- Around 3,000 rural women are directly employed
- Women gain skills gradually and become economically independent
- Food processing industries are established as micro-enterprises using locally available agricultural produce
